PowerDNN Launches A Global Cloud Platform for DotNetNuke

Omaha, NE (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

PowerDNN, the worlds largest DotNetNuke hosting provider, and a platinum sponsor of the DotNetNuke World conference, has announced the immediate release of the PowerGrid Global Cloud solution for DotNetNuke.

The PowerGrid Global Cloud leverages a variety of enterprise technologies used by companies such as Facebook and Google, to provide a seamless, global web presence.

On the PowerGrid Global Cloud, websites are deployed across multiple data centers in the United States, Europe, and Australia. Customers are automatically routed to their nearest data center. For example: Australian customers go to Australian data centers, European customers go to European data centers, and American customers go to American data centers. Customers in other parts of the world are automatically routed to the closest data center. This delivers the fastest experience to end users, and also provides unique redundancy capabilities.

With a traditional cloud, such as those offered by Microsoft, Amazon, and RackSpace, performance demanding customers are provisioned across multiple servers within a single data center. All requests are routed to a primary data center where load balancing happens within the chosen data center. Customers near the data center have a good experience, while customers that are located far from the data center receive a second-class experience. Additionally, in a traditional cloud model, a data center failure is a catastrophic event. However, when a website is deployed on the PowerGrid Global Cloud, if a failure occurs, all users are automatically rerouted to the next fastest, available data center. This requires no intervention from system administrators and takes place in less than two minutes.

As Tony Valenti, CEO of PowerDNN states, "There are many companies who offer multi-server cloud solutions, but many of these solutions all reside within the same data center. International customers typically receive a second-class experience. While few companies can even fail over from one data center to another, we have raised the bar to create seamless redundancy between global datacenters. We actively serve websites from multiple data centers and customers always visit the data center nearest to themselves. Regardless of geographic location, all customers receive a first-class experience.

In his session at DotNetNuke World, founder and CEO Tony Valenti will discuss the various technologies that enable global cloud solutions. Building on these themes, he will then discuss the automated data synchronization and distribution required for enterprise cloud environments.
