MicroVenture Marketplace Raises $150,000 for Three Companies

Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 26, 2011

MicroVenture Marketplace Inc., an online investment service connecting startups seeking money with investors, funded its first three deals, raising $ 150,000 from investors in six states.

In our first deal, we raised $ 100,000 for an entertainment technology platform company from 19 investors, said Bill Clark, the founder of MicroVentures. The amount of the investments ranged from $ 2,000 to $ 25,000, and the average invested was about $ 5,000.

Founded in 2010, MicroVentures helps entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses seeking $ 100,000 to $ 500,000 find sophisticated and accredited investors who want to invest as little as $ 1,000 to $ 10,000 per investment, through its online service.

MicroVentures peer-to-peer investment service, which is similar to crowdfunding, allows investors from all over the country to gain access to deals they otherwise wouldnt see and to invest smaller amounts.

"I love the excitement of angel investing but the amount of time and money needed to become a successful investor was too much for my taste, said Peter Renton, who took part in the first deal.

MicroVentures solves both the time and money piece for me, said Renton, who runs the Social Lending Network blog. With low minimum investments as well as their strict due diligence before taking on a company, MicroVentures makes the entire process easier."

Investors in the first three deals came from, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, and Texas, Clark said. In the two other deals MicroVentures made introductions that facilitated a $ 25,000 deal for a B2B data/marketing company and a $ 25,000 investment in a venture fund.
