Shane Weight Loss Camps & Resorts Fights Obesity with Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation

Ferndale, New York (PRWEB) November 22, 2011

Shane Weight Loss Camps & Resorts have recently partnered with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, an organization whose mission is to help reduce childhood obesity and adult obesity. Both organizations share the philosophy of achieving a healthy lifestyle based on calories in and calories out.

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation aims to reduce childhood obesity by 2015 by bringing together various companies and organizations with the shared cause of achieving a healthy lifestyle through the marketplace, workplace, and schools. This includes after-school programs promoting physical activity and working with food retailers to ensure that healthy foods are more available to Americans.

As the newest associate member of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, Shane Camps & Resorts joins other well-known partners of their cause who also have committed to fighting obesity in America while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

We are honored to become part of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation family, whose mission is so closely aligned to that of Shane Camps & Resorts. Obesity among children and adults is a national health crisis that requires broad and deep action by many organizations and the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation is helping lead that effort, says Ziporah Janowski co-founder of Shane Camps & Resorts.

Shane Camps & Resorts have been fighting childhood obesity since 1968, as the longest running weight loss camp in the country. With the addition of camps in new locations including California, Arizona and Georgia, as well as the introduction of an adult weight loss program in New York, Shane Camps & Resorts fights obesity through educating adults, teens, and kids of how to follow a healthy lifestyle.

Camp Shane weight loss camp, with its original site in New York, is opening its newest location in Georgia in the summer of 2012. Shane Cares, a not-for-profit weight loss camp intended for children of low-income families, is also seeking to open its gates by next summer. Shane Diet Resorts weight loss program for adults plans to open a year-round facility in the Southern United States in 2012.
