Honolulu, HI (Vocus) May 28, 2010

Hawaii.com, the popular vacation planning website for the Hawaiian Islands, has had its own page on Facebook since March 2009. It established the page to better communicate with its members and the general public and that effort has been a great success.

As of this week, the Hawaii.com Facebook page has nearly 8,500 people Liking the page, meaning that these fans follow its posts regularly. The official page is

http://www.facebook.com/HawaiiTravel .

Just visit the site and you will see why Hawaii.com on Facebook is indeed the information source for all things Hawaii. Its followers are passionate about Hawaii and they post regularly on the site.

The Facebook page gets nearly 900 visits a week and over 50 postings a day. Nearly 80 percent of those involved are female. And while most are from the USA, there are 244 followers from Canada, 102 from Australia, 142 from the UK and approximately 20 other countries as well.

Some of those postings are comments on information that Hawaii.com has posted to its followers; others ask questions which often receive many answers. This dialogue keeps the site vibrant.

In these economic times, consumers need all of the information they can get to plan a vacation they can enjoy and afford. All of that information is contained in the over 5,000 pages of Hawaii.com, the most in-depth site on the web devoted to these exotic islands.

It is even more helpful that readers can now interact with the website via Facebook.

I love Hawaii and the local residents. They are so helpful when you are asking a question. If I had the money, I would live there all of the time.

Visiting the Big Island in late May. Rented a home with a pool in the mountains above Kailua-Kona. I love the islands, but have not made it to Molokai yet. That will be our next trip. Kauai is still our favorite.

Really missing Hawaii, wishing I was there right now! Still looking for Cody and Reed, the sailors that saved my son Dan's life in Hawaii, off Waikiki beach, 2004. God Bless you both !
